For landlords & property owners
How Ethiolet works for landlords
Ethiolet helps you market your rental to trusted tenants in Ethiopia, the diaspora, and expat community. You publish your listing, receive structured inquiries, and stay in control of who you respond to and when you arrange viewings.
The flow in 3 simple steps
- 1
Create your listing on Ethiolet
You sign in, add your property details, upload photos, and set your monthly rent and deposit. You can edit or pause the listing at any time from your dashboard.
- 2
Receive structured inquiries
Renters contact you through Ethiolet. You receive inquiries with the renter's name, contact details and message instead of random calls or screenshots from social media.
- 3
Shortlist, arrange viewings, and agree the tenancy
You decide which renters to reply to and when to arrange viewings. Once you're happy, you agree the tenancy and handle contracts and payments offline, just as you normally would.
What Ethiolet does for you
Shows your property to renters actively searching in Addis Ababa, other Ethiopian cities and abroad.
Organises inquiries so you can quickly see who contacted you and what they're asking.
Helps diaspora and expat renters find your listing without needing local contacts or random Facebook groups.
What stays in your control
You decide which renters to respond to, and who is invited to a viewing.
You set your own rent, deposit, and house rules. Ethiolet does not change your terms.
You handle contracts and payments directly with the tenant, as you normally would.
Trust, verification and “diaspora ready”
Ethiolet is being built to make renting safer and more transparent for everyone. Over time, selected listings will show additional trust signals, such as verification level and whether they are prepared to work with renters who are currently abroad.
For now, we focus on removing dead listings, making prices clear, and giving both sides a cleaner way to communicate.

Common questions from landlords
Is it free to list my property?
Yes. It's free to create a listing and start receiving inquiries. If this changes in the future, we'll communicate pricing clearly before you are charged for anything.
Do you manage the property for me?
No. Ethiolet is not a property management company. We help you find renters and organise inquiries, but you remain the landlord and manage the tenancy yourself.
Can diaspora and expat renters contact me?
Yes. Ethiolet is designed to be friendly for renters abroad and expats moving to Ethiopia. They contact you through the same inquiry flow as local renters.
What if I want to remove my listing?
You can unpublish or update your listing from your dashboard at any time, for example when the property is rented or your plans change.
